A Voice for the People, A Vision for Miramar
In every election, candidates flood the streets with banners, posters, and slogans, all vying for a seat in leadership. But Pamella “Pema” Reid is not just another face in the crowd—she’s a proven advocate, a lifelong servant, and a leader who has already been working tirelessly for the people of Miramar. Now, she’s stepping forward to run for Miramar Commissioner Seat 4 to amplify the voices that are often overlooked.

Who is Pamella “Pema” Reid?
Pamella Reid is a longtime resident of Miramar, a small business advocate, and a champion for children and seniors. For over a decade, she has worked behind the scenes, providing resources, programs, and support to those who need it most—without seeking recognition.
She is the Executive Director and Founder of Dreamcatchers for the Soul Foundation, Inc., an organization dedicated to holistic education and enrichment for at-risk communities. Through this foundation, she has equipped children with the tools to navigate stress, anxiety, and trauma using Mindfulness, Yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, and self-discovery practices. She has worked in schools, hospitals, and restorative justice conferences, fostering transformation and healing.
Beyond her nonprofit work, Pamella has an extensive academic background. She holds a B.S. from SUNY Purchase, studied TV production at Brooklyn College, and earned her ministerial license from Sedona University. She is also a certified labyrinth facilitator through Veriditas and an accredited mindfulness practitioner, with certifications from Mindful Leaders, Mindful Schools, and the Florida Community of Mindfulness.
Her dedication has earned her numerous awards from institutions such as Memorial Regional Hospital and the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. But for Pamella, the accolades don’t matter—it’s the impact that does.
Why is She Running? Why Now?
For over 15 years, Pamella has lived in and served Miramar, witnessing firsthand the growing divide between East and West Miramar. If you take a walk through both areas, the disparity is clear. She understands the frustrations of residents who feel that resources are disproportionately allocated.
She has listened to the concerns of the community:
- Soaring water bills that have become an unbearable burden for many families.
- Rising housing costs that are forcing seniors—who have called Miramar home for decades—to move out because they can no longer afford to live here.
- Gentrification and economic disparities that threaten Miramar’s diversity and accessibility.
Pamella isn’t running on empty promises of “roses and gold.” She isn’t here to tell residents what they want to hear. She is running because it’s time to have the tough conversations that often go ignored—conversations about affordability, responsible city budgeting, and ensuring Miramar remains an inclusive city, not just a destination for the wealthy.
Pamella’s Mission: Community First
Pamella has always believed in people over politics. She isn’t driven by titles—she is driven by service. Her work has always been about ensuring that children, seniors, small business owners, and everyday residents have the resources they need to thrive.
She has organized conferences for children, holistic wellness programs, and charitable giveaways for over 11 years—without recognition or fanfare. She has raised thousands of dollars to provide resources for seniors, veterans, and underserved families. And now, she believes this is her moment to contribute on a larger scale—to bring her experience, passion, and advocacy into City Hall.
Pamella’s Promise to Miramar
Pamella believes leadership is about listening. Before she casts a vote on any decision, she will ask:
✅ How do the residents feel about this?
✅ How many lives will this decision impact?
✅ Can we afford it?
She is committed to doing her homework before making decisions that affect Miramar’s future. She will work to ensure that Miramar remains a diverse, thriving, and inclusive city—not just for the wealthy, but for all residents.
The time for real leadership is now. The time for real representation is now. Pamella “Pema” Reid is ready to serve—because Miramar deserves better.
